So much yarn, so little time

When we were in Syracuse last, Jessye found a hat that she wanted to make. The woman at Sheep Thrills gave her a pattern with her yarn purchase (based on a sample in the store). But as we read the pattern, we realized it was done with two yarns held together and giant needles.
Nevermind.
Jessye and I reworked the hat using one strand of bulky yarn and knitting from the top, down. The original pattern was named Rapunzel and I believe is based on a hat sold at Anthropologie. Jessye renamed the hat Lady Godiva. I knit my sample in Brown Sheep Lanaloft Worsted, one skein. Olivia is modeling.
We’ve added the pattern to the Ravelry database but I have yet to write it up. Any day now, I promise.
After that, I returned to tam madness.
This is ‘Early Morning Tam’ and I will be writing this pattern up soon (hopefully). The inspiration started with the Twilight Mitts. I was walking the dogs at an early hour and thought I’d like to capture the beauty of the bare trees against the early morning sky. In keeping with the whole ‘Twilight’ motif, I might have named this, ‘Breaking Dawn Tam’, but even I couldn’t do that with a straight face.
This tam is Selbu Modern by Kate Gagnon Osborn. I enjoyed knitting this mostly because the color changes amused me.
Both of these tams were knit with the color-changing yarn Mini Mochi and a coordinating solid fingering-weight yarn.
While I’m still recovering from Rhinebeck (I took a class on Thursday from Nancy Shroyer and went shopping on Saturday), I need to head off to Stitches East!

Ha ha! I love the Godiva hat! Very cool!
And your tams are stunning!
