Because I can

As mentioned previously, I cast this on 13 days ago. When Alisa saw it, she said, “What is that going to be?”
My reply, ” A giant *@;#$%& knitted circle!” Of couse! Doesn’t everyone want one?
Susie asked, “How do you wear a round shawl?”
Answer: Wear it? I thought you put it in a Rubbermaid container with all the other knitted stuff that needs homes.
So here it is, before blocking…

I really enjoyed knitting this so much so, that I was untempted by other new projects. I’ve read complaints about the endless knitted edging. ‘Mindless’, is what I have to say about that. And at the end of a too long day at work, mindless and endless are just fine by me.
When I am asked (by non-knitters, usually) why anyone would knit socks, my honest reply is that they are the Dada art of the knitter. You knit hundreds of tiny stitches to make something that no one sees and if used, are guaranteed to get holes in them. The absurdity of this appeals to me as much as any other reason to knit socks. I’d say Girasole is right there behind socks as Dada.
While I still have sweaters knitted that need putting together, and half scarves in a few knitting bags, I’m seriously considering knitting Girasole again. (and maybe again).

yep, i’m totally obsessed. that shawl is gorgeous!
