Can’t Stop Waffling
Jul 23rd, 2009 by jennifer
I did take a break from everything to do with anything waffles for a few days. I’d had my eye on a waffle cone iron online, but was showing unusual restraint. Then M found one at Target that he said needed to come home with us.
We used the recipe which came with the iron, substituting half of the white sugar for brown sugar. I will say I was disappointed that the recipe only called for one stick of melted and cooled butter.
The cones were fine, but M and I agreed they were not off-the-charts spectacular. We’ve discussed our proposed changes and I expect that we’ll be back at it in a day or so. We’ve also agreed to postpone breaking out the ice cream maker until after the cones are perfected so as not to distract us in our taste testing.
Speaking of good taste, here are a couple of knitting things…

Fish ladder socks in Mountain Colors Weavers’ Wool Quarters
Baby fern socks in Noro Silk Garden Sock
Peaks and Valley socks in Happy Socks
Gratuitous photo of flowers at the Tisbury Farmers’ Market

I won’t lie to you, me and Chunky are sitting here drooling over your waffle cones!
