Too Crazy For You?

You know how there are those people who have a new baby and all they can think about, all they can talk about, is the new baby? It’s a good thing for the survival of the species, I’m sure. I do work at a pediatric practice where it’s all babies, all the time, so I’m glad that despite the bad press, people are still having kids.
When my children were little, I made it a point to have something else to talk about. I read books, drew, read the New York Times…it’s difficult to stay off the subject of your incredibly magical offspring when pretty much every waking (and often, sleeping) moment is over-flowing with BABY.
I was lousy at some aspects of being an over-involved parent. I never knew exactly how old my babies were. Abbey is 18 weeks old. And after the initial awareness of each baby’s weight (you don’t easily forget 8 pounds, 14 ounces), I was pretty much clueless as to the size of my growing offspring. Abbey, who was 3 pounds, 5 ounces when she came home, currently weighs 5 pounds, 7 ounces. (another great use for my fiber-weighing gram scale!)
I’m still knitting. A couple of sweaters have fallen from my needles. I don’t think I’ve bothered to photograph them at all, and one of them is already safely in its new home. I did manage to photograph this before I lost it in Syracuse, NY (I wanted to put out ‘Lost Hat’ posters but my family cautioned me against it.
I had recently been boasting that I’ve never lost a knitted object. This might teach me to keep those kinds of taunts to myself. I miss this hat (worn once) so much, I am knitting another. Same color and everything.
Mostly, my boring-to-other-people thoughts are about Abbey. I am trying to clicker-train her and it’s going okay. I’ve read a couple of books on the subject and after I got over the fact that I waited too long to start and now I’ve messed it all up, I began enjoying all of the smaller successes we’re sharing. “Abbey, give me 5!”
I do have one question, however. Do you think at 15, it’s too late to clicker-train a child?

LOL, unfortunately I don’t think 15 year olds respond to things like clickers. You’ll probably just get the ol’ eyeroll!
Abbey’s very very cute.
God, I hope 15 isn’t too late! I need some clicker trained children around here. I’d be really up for it if it worked with cats….
Cute puppy!
Ha ha! I think Abbey and Moochie are the same age. But I kind of lost count after 13 weeks….ha ha!
