Jessye started it when we made that trip to the fabric store and she decided to want an apron. One thing led to another and my sewing maching was getting a workout. But first, to help stem the tide of sewing bits which are over-taking my diningroom, I made this:
Once my pins were safely in their new home, I let the rick rack fly and made myself an apron. I love the vintage fabrics and all of the delicate trims. But let’s be real, I’m going to be covered in olive oil and tomato sauce within hours of putting my apron on for the first time. So I settled on something festive that would weather the stains with a smile.
Yes, those are Care Bears. Wearing it makes me feel more like the lunch lady in my elementary school than Doris Day, but our lunch ladies were the best.
